Three words: I got fucked. Map Andromeda, totally fucked. And to add to that, it was the first time I've ever even played that map haha. I played twice against a zerg guy and he came with those mutas like a madman. I don't know if it was just me but I could so have gotten science vessels a lot sooner but I kept trying to use my marines to handle his ass. Bad move. He was really good with his mutas. And he had about 14 I could irradiate... that is.. if I had vessels.
The first game, his mutas were attacking and microing all over my base. Really slowing me down. I could barely make people. Then when I had my vessels I tried to attack but he overwhelmed me with lurkers and lings. Totally fucked. I should have had vessels much earlier and way more tanks and marines.
The game was strange because I had to fall back into recently picked up hotkey skills. I didn't hotkey so well. My marines were all over the place. haha it was crazy. This game lasted 19 minutes.
The second game I really tried to get into it and he came hard with the mutas again. I never got my vessels out... I should have tried a little harder to just defend instead of trying to attack, at least until my vessel came. But he put the muta's penis all over my base. And he fucked me bad. At the 14 minute mark he made his mutas into guardians. I just left the game.
You see I've played on iCCup twice before these two games against different players and I pretty much raped both of them. I looked at BWChart for one of those games and they had an APM (Actions Per Minute) of 112 while I had 101. It was a zerg guy and he had a whole lot of minerals but he still got screwed pretty bad. He never harassed me at all. I don' t think he knows how to muta micro either.
THE GUY I JUST PLAYED HAD AN APM of 213!!!!!!! Jesus Christ dude. Is that what D ranked players are like on iCCup? No wonder this guy raped me. You don't have such a high APM and be a bad player. Damn, this is ridiculous. I don't want play anyone with an APM anywhere as high as 200. I would surely quit if I don't get any lower level APM players. Man lol
I didn't even save the replay for the second game on account of how terrible I did. I see that I'm going to have to get my hotkeys down and timing right before I can get a higher rank. I've got to scan the zerg guys and if he's making mutas I've really got to make science vessels or I'm dead meat. Being away from starcraft for a while made me forget how much terran needs vessels. ha
As I further look at the BWChart I can see his peak APM was 342. LOL mine was 182. I can't believe this game is so demanding of skill. I knew I was going to have to work myself in to comfortable gameplay but this game was completely unexpected.
But one thing is sure. I've gotten a lot better. My APM used to be around 80 and I used to not know how or what to do most of the time. But I do now, I know what to do and how to do it but I need to play a few more games to straighten myself out. Hopefully they won't have an APM of 200 too. I won't play anymore today but when I do, I'll update.
Edit: I just looked on iCCup wondering why my losses weren't shown on my record and saw I have to play it on the 1v1 gametype. I played it on melee. Fail! So my record is 0-0, but in my heart it's 2-2 lol.

Raiden II
Back in the day , there were arcades. Places your mother dropped you off with five to ten dollars and a time she'd return. I loved arcades back in the day, especially this game that I've downloaded onto my computer: Raiden II. It's a shooting game where you play as a jet and with a birds eyes view of you shooting oncoming enemies. I love dodging their bullets, what can I say. Weaponry of the game includes missiles and guns. There are two types of missiles and three of guns. On guns, there is a powerful laser that blasts only straight ahead, there are red bullets that have a spread but you still need to aim, and a purple laser that follows the targets but is the weakest yet the most fun. The missiles either follow the targets or shoot straight ahead, the one that shoots ahead has more power to the punch. It's an interesting game because when just one of the enemies bullets hits you, you explode. And there are a lot of bullets. You are equipped with bombs too. They clear the map clean of enemies, the weak ones, and leave you seconds of safe dodging.
I downloaded it off bittorrent and even got Raiden III from a gaming website. My laptop doesn't have a powerful enough video card to play it, soI used the other computer. It looks so damn good on the big screen monitor that I almost forget how fucking hard it is to dodge all those bullets. Playing it on normal mode was next to impossible. You'd have to memorize each level and know exactly where to be when they bullets start spraying; I'll leave it up to the japanese to handle "very hard" mode.

Xbox Live
My brother restarted the xbox live subscription I started last year. I found out a half hour ago. I just played 2 games of halo 3. They changed the game options a bit since the last time I've been on. There is now a DLC big team battle and FFA. It's ranked though so I won't be able to play it with my brother. Because of my new pact I've made with myself for good health I've decided only to play halo with my brother or with my friends (that I know in person). But even then, I'm not going to play for more than two hours.
As for starcraft, I'm going to try out a game on iCCup soon. My computer's fan does not work anymore so my computer cuts off randomly when it stays on too long. It overheats easily. Hopefully this won't affect my starcraft gaming I do later.

Starcraft (Brood War)
This Blog is about the gaming creature inside that loves competition and playing. I plan to write on various games and sports. I'll start off with this computer game.
I love to play games. Throughout my life I have always has a gaming console in reach. From the Sega Genesis, N64, Xbox, to Xbox 360, and I must not forget my personal computer. There is much to say of my gaming experiences but I want to shine special attention on the best game I've ever played: "Starcraft - Brood War". I've played this game for about 8 to 9 years. I was about 12 when I first played it. My gaming sense was glued to Starcraft more than any other game I had.
I've played mostly with my best friends, and we usually played the type of games for noobs. Playing the no money maps was very difficult for us. My friends and I switched over to Diablo for a while but through time I drifted back to Starcraft. I loved the competition and the dynamics of starcraft much more than diablo. It didn't take real skill to play diablo, it only chewed up your time so you could level up your character; that's what I didn't like about it, I got a little satisfaction from leveling up but it got really repetitive. Of course, I was still in my noob stage of starcraft but I was still so attracted to the gameplay.
After having stopped playing starcraft for a few years, I've started back to playing it every so often last summer, still playing noob money maps. But it was fun to play all in all. I dropped playing it over the school semester but picked it up again when I came back home in February. The first few months were zero clutter maps but as I got really good at it I began noticing the major inbalances of the game. I would get so frustrated at how unfair the gameplay was, not to mention being unable to choose your teammates. The protoss race had the most unfair advantage because of their arbitor recalls that happened a little after the map max. I only play as terran on starcraft so we are the race that are hurt the worst from a good recall, and they are hard to stop as terran.
It was then that I began to play non-money maps. I didn't like the frustration of having the disadvantage. But I didn't really enjoy non-money maps because I would get beat easily, I didn't have a clear understanding how it should be played. I didn't know the amount of units necessary for an attack and I didn't have good hotkey control. Starcraft is going to be the only game I would ever play for the rest of my life so I want to be good at it. The only other game I've been playing is Halo 3, but it's no fun without playing with my friends. It's not much fun after the 800th game. To play one video game for the rest of my life is good enough for me. I don't want to keep buying games and learning the gameplay. Takes up too much time.
"Gaming With Redus" is going to be updated every so often (every week is the goal) with my progression. Since switching to non-money maps I've watched almost 300 games as an observer. I've taken delight in watching people play. I've only played about 20 to 30. As of this day, I will play on ICCup and write my progression. I've learned a lot through obs mode and have gotten down the dynamics of the game.
I've played an e-friend "Neal' many times and we have wins and losses with each other split half and half. When we play regular maps I have come to have better gameplay and a better army than he. He plays as protoss, then zerg a little less. There is no competition if he picks terran. Sometimes, we play island maps, and he usually ends up making all carriers or all bcs. They sometimes are unexpected so he wins more often than he should. I've got to learn to keep a keen eye on him.
The last game I've played with him, we were doing FFA with three of us on an island map. The two other players had protoss and I had terran. I knew Neal would go carriers, so I got a whole lot of valkyries. Little did I know, valkyries aren't as good as wraiths or goliaths when dealing with carriers. Not to mention how cheap they are. But protoss still has an advantage with arbs and carriers, they can pull back from goliath groups and can freeze my wraiths. It's a bit frustrating. I'll have to remember to shockwave the carriers and make ALOT of wraiths and goliaths next time. That's all I can do. Neal ended up winning even though he focused mostly on me. The other player was terrible, making very few carriers.
Now to put myself to the test on ICCup. In case you don't know, ICCup is a league of ranked gamers and has anti hacks so there is fair gaming. The rankings are alphabetical from D- to A+ with A+ being the best. I've played twice before on ICCup and won both.
