I've been doing a little bit of experimenting :-)
Here is my POV with Diesel.
:-) My apm was 99.... Guess I was confident/lazy. I tried this same strat on iCCup and it failed twice.
I hope to have higher quality next time. You may have to change your settings on youtube so you see the highest quality. The default is low quality.

Why did it fail on iC Cup? You were a bit lucky with regards to positioning here, but I doubt it was just that.
As a Protoss player I usually place a few dragoons behind my mineral line in a setup like this, but I usually place to few (how many would the Protoss player here have needed?) or my front ramp is breached before I can pull back the goons from the back of my base.
The first guy slipped a observer just far enough to see me loading. The second guy was in the process of loading a reaver and two zeolots, he just dropped them right onto my 5 vultures and 3 tanks.
The funny thing is that both games were played on Othello and the cliffs next to their expo was wide open and full of workers. -_-
Good job using the terrain to your advantage.
I think it is possible that Diesel was simply not used to the map. Generally, once you suffer such an exploit, you become more mindful about it (such as the cliff overlooking the 6 o`clock expo on Lost Temple for me :( ). I think that is what allowed the players on ICCup to know generally well what you would do.
